Founded in 1990, Agewell® Health has been a leader in research and education related to a wide range of medications for older adults. For over a generation, professionals of Agewell® Health have helped treat medical problems as well as geriatric mental health issues in the hospital, nursing home, assisted-living and outpatient office settings. They have provided expertise in medications for memory problems and memory enhancement.

Board-certified in both internal medicine and geriatric medicine, Stephen A. Rappaport, MD is a nationally-known medical consultant, clinical researcher, and educator. He has been principal investigator for major clinical research studies in arthritis, depression, urinary problems, memory loss, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Rappaport has played a leadership role in aging and is immediate past president of the Indiana Geriatrics Society. He also served on the Clinical Practice Committee and the Public Policy Committee of the American Geriatrics Society. Dr. Rappaport was chairman of the Community and Home Options to Institutional Care for Elderly and Disabled (CHOICE) Board for the State of Indiana -- a program that has helped thousands of people remain in their homes and avoid institutionalization. He has served on the Medical Advisory Board for the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles for over 20 years.

Dr. Rappaport is an expert in wellness, the health care system, and complex medical problems. He has presented to a broad range of audiences including businesses, physician and professional groups, and educational organizations throughout the United States. His papers have been published in national, peer-reviewed journals.

Dr Rappaport graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College. He attended Indiana University School of Medicine and trained in Internal Medicine at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Rappaport completed fellowship training in Geriatric Medicine at Harvard Medical School where he was also a Henry J. Kaiser Fellow in General Internal Medicine. He is a clinical faculty member at Indiana University School of Medicine.
